Headteacher's Name: Ms Nicola Beech (Principal)

Salary: Main Scale (a significant TLR is available for an exceptional candidate with appropriate experience)

Required for September 2017

Literacy and numeracy are increasingly important as the challenge and expectations facing young people grow year on year. In order to support our pupils in Years 7 and 8 be in the strongest position possible before they make the move to high school, we are looking at how teaching and learning, supported by an innovative curriculum, can ensure their future success.

As a middle school, we already treat Years 5 and 6 as a discrete Primary phase; meanwhile, pupils in Years 7 and 8 are taught by secondary subject specialists in a curriculum delivered in partnership with our feeder high school, Arrow Vale, which is Outstanding (Ofsted) and secures excellent outcomes at both KS4 and KS5. As such, our pupils still feel a real sense of transition, moving to a different part of the school and working with many staff new to them.

We are keen to build on the exceptional work already taking place in Years 5 and 6 to raise outcomes, and seek an experienced Primary teacher with maths expertise to work mainly in Year 7. The successful applicant will ensure that KS3 learning is engaging, active and builds on the pedagogy and best practice of Year 6. They will also have the opportunity to support numeracy and maths learning more widely across both phases.

The staff are a friendly and sociable team committed to achieve the very best for our children. We are proud of the way our Christian ethos and values create a caring, respectful environment. Equally important to our school identity is belonging to the family of RSA Academies: from the exciting opportunities it provides for our pupils, to the unique CPD provided within the RSA Teaching School Alliance.

This is an excellent opportunity that offers great professional development and the opportunity to work in a unique context, whether you are an NQT, looking for your first responsibility or keen to develop your leadership experience. If you have energy, vision and enthusiasm, you won’t regret joining Team Ipsley!

Interested candidates who wish to have an informal conversation about this role are welcome to contact Nicola Beech, Principal. The information pack and application form is available to download from our website. Alternatively, please email.
