Phase 3 Leader

Job Ref: Eteach/LA8955
Salary: £24857 to £40484
Full Time and Permanent
Required From: 1 September 2016

Following the departure of our current Phase Leader to take up a post overseas, we are looking for an inspirational Phase 3 Leader (Years 5 & 6) who will make an impact on the outcomes for our Phase 3 children and contribute to the school’s ongoing development. This is a great opportunity to develop the skills of senior leadership and useful experience for potential Deputy Heads and Headteachers of the future.

We restructured our Senior Management Team in September 2015 and so the right candidate will fit into our dedicated and collaborative team of Phase Leaders, whilst bringing their own vision and drive to the role, as we look to develop our vision of ‘Learning without Limits’. We are members of both the Wroxham Transformative Learning Alliance and the Rivers Teaching Alliance and we are committed to the development of truly great practice across the school, through rigorously funded and well supported teacher CPD. We place trust, co-agency and the involvement of everybody at the heart of the decision-making processes in our school and we want to embrace the challenges and opportunities that the new assessment without levels agenda offers teaching professionals.

We believe that for leaders to be able to support teachers in raising the standards of teaching and learning, they must TEACH…and teach well! This Phase Leader role currently encompasses a 0.2 classroom teacher commitment and a 0.2 PPA release cover role for a Year 5 class.

We want to hear from candidates who can make a positive impact on the teaching and learning of this Phase, someone who can see opportunities rather than problems and most of all, we want someone who will challenge us and relish being challenged themselves, as we look to offer the most engaging, supportive and stimulating curriculum to all our pupils. We look forward to hearing from you and showing you around our school.

If you would like to visit CHERRY ORCHARD, please email the school office with the phrase ‘Phase 3 Leader Tour’ in the Subject line, stating your name, your contact details and the date you would like to visit the school in the email.

Our school is growing and the staff team, which is balanced in terms of young and experienced professionals, will support experienced and new entrants to the profession. As a new member of staff recently said, “At Catshill I am able to focus upon being an outstanding teacher; in my previous school this was not possible.” You will join a positive and extremely caring staff with a ‘can do’ attitude and pupil centred approach to teaching. The pupils at Catshill are a delight to teach, well behaved, motivated and willing to learn.

“Pupils’ willingness to work hard makes a significant contribution to their learning. The proportions of pupils who are exceeding nationally expected progress are rising.”

“The school places a significant emphasis on improving literacy and numeracy skills, and in particular writing skills for those performing below national expectations. Specific support and guidance have had a positive impact on pupils’ progress. The school has invested in training for teaching assistants, and they often work with teachers most effectively, for example by asking their own probing questions.”

“In class, pupils approach their studies with enthusiasm, and conform to the high behavioural expectations of staff. They listen attentively, and some are prepared to respond articulately in discussion.”
Ofsted 2014.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Full enhanced DBS checks will be undertaken.
